Dispatch Messages

Dispatch Messages

The Dispatch Messages page will show every dispatch message (page/CAD message/manual dispatch message) that comes in through the Who’s Responding system. In essence, any message found on this page will have alerted the Who’s Responding App.

  1. Sort by “department” – every company is setup differently. This sorting option allows you to sort dispatch messages by department/shift/station, depending on how you have your Who’s Responding system setup.
  2. Date Range – sort your dispatch messages by specific date.
  3. Call Type and Timestamp – much like the Callout Report, you will be able to edit the Call Type Icon.
    1. Also, every dispatch message that is sent, the Who’s Responder server will timestamp the exact time that it was sent.
  4. Department – you will be able to see what department, shift or station the dispatch message was sent to. Again, this will be different for everyone as it is contingent on how each individual agency is setup in the first place.
  5. Message – there are several types of messages that Who’s Responding is able to relay from the sender (typically a dispatch service) to the Who’s Responding App.
    1. Above you can see three types of messages for one call.
      1. The first message is the Page that was sent by the dispatcher. You will be able to play this message back at any time.
      2. The second message is a CAD message again sent from the dispatcher that highlights the address and required resources. CAD messages with locations entered will initiate the Map and Navigation feature in the APP.
      3. The third message is the Page received confirmation message.
    2. Another type of message that is typically found in this location is the Manual Dispatch Message that an officer can send from his or her App.
  6. Export to Excel – you will be able to export the Dispatch Messages table to an Excel spreadsheet
  7. Action Buttons – gain access to Radio Recordings (feature in development), incident plotting and Change Call Type Icon.

Radio Recordings (Feature in Development)

This feature will allow you to playback the radio recordings of an incident. The recordings will only save and timestamp radio streams where there is any talking or noise coming over the radio, therefore eliminating any dead air. Each time a transmission is complete, the system will separate that small transmission and save it as its own recording so you can better locate important radio transmissions.

The standard features will allow you to save up to 30 minutes of radio traffic. Once the feature is fully functional and live, there will be the option to upgrade your Who’s Responding subscription to include unlimited radio recordings.

Incident Plotting

If you are utilizing CAD messages with Who’s Responding OR an officer is plotting the incident based off of the Page, the incident will be plotted within the App. Further, if you are looking at the dispatch messages page and see the green map marker button is highlighted, it is a quick indication that the address of the incident was plotted:

If you select the green button, the plotting of the incident will pop-up:

If you do not receive CAD messages or if an officer is NOT plotting the incident based on the Page, the button may still be highlighted. If this is the case, it is likely that one of your members plotted the incident location using the On Scene feature in the App. The On Scene feature, once selected will take that person’s GPS location and plot the incident for the rest of the responders to see within the App.

Changing the Call Type Icon

To change the Call Type Icon, select the yellow gears button:

A pop-up will appear with all the icon options to choose from:

Once you have selected the icon to fit the incident, hit Save.
