In the
Manage Permit Types section, you can add and edit Permit types displayed on the
public facing website.
Creating
Permit Types:
To create a
new permit type, select the Create Permit Type button. It will take you to a
new window where you can create the new permit type.
- Display Name - the name given here will be what is displayed
on the public facing website. This can only be added once and no edits can be
made once the permit type is saved.
- Short Description – if you wish to add a short description of
potentially what kinds of activities are permitted under a specific permit
type.
- Terms and Conditions – In the text box, you can add the
permit’s terms and conditions. There is no limit on the amount of text that is
entered.
- Photo attachment – you can add photos as examples for your
residents as to what is an acceptable burn barrel or fire pit.
- Max Open Air Burn Addresses per Permit – by moving the slider
to the right, you can increase the permissible open burn addresses under one
permit type. For example, if a farmer has multiple pieces of land, they can add
their multiple addresses under the one permit application.
- Display Priority – if you have multiple permit types, you can
use the slider to organize the order for the permit types displayed on the
public facing website.
- Active Burn Icon - if you have multiple permit types and wish to distinguish between them on the active burns map, you can choose among the different colour flames. When the permit is activated through the automated call-in system, the corresponding flame will appear over that resident's address.
- “I Agree” Checkboxes – here you can add as many or have as
little I agree checkboxes. The purpose is to highlight the key points of the
terms and conditions or to provide the resident with the “plain English”
version of important terms.
- Additional forms – by selecting the Add Form button, you can
add additional forms to a permit that the residents will be able to access and
print out. For example, if a permit type requires additional forms to be
submitted to the department, residents can quickly access and print these
forms.
Editing
Permit Types:
To edit a
permit type, select the Blue Pencil attached to the specific permit type you
wish to edit.
Once you
select this, it will take you to the permit type with the same fields as
described in the Creating Permit Types.
Again, the
only thing that cannot be changed in this section is the Permit Display Name.
Adding
Multiple Open Burn Addresses:
Adding
multiple open burn addresses will allow residents to burn on more than one of
their properties with either a single permit or with multiple permits (i.e.,
one permit/address).
The first
step in adding multiple open burn addresses is setting the Max number of Open
Burn Addresses per Permit on the Permit Type:
Click
on the indicator and drag it to the desired number of addresses. Once you have
the desired number select at the bottom
of the page.
Next, head
to the Manage Accounts page and select the account/resident that wishes to have
multiple Open Burn Addresses.
Select
the to
open the Edit User pop-up. From there, scroll down to the Open Burn Address
area and select the plus sign (+) right above the map. This will add another
address slot for you to edit. Select the (+) for as many addresses the resident
has in correlation with what you have set in the Permit Type.
Continuing
from number 8 above, forms can be added to a permit type but selecting the Add
Form button towards the bottom of the page:
Once you
have selected this, a pop-up will appear asking for the form name and whether
the form is a link or a file.
If the form
is a Link:
Select the
Link button and add the URL link into the space provided and select Add Form.
If the form
is a File:
Select the
File button > Choose File > search your computer for the file > Add
Form.
Once the
form(s) is added, residents will be able to quickly click on the required form
link just like they can the By-Law:
Additionally,
files can be accessed by residents if they log into their accounts on the
public facing website and select My Permits. From there, they will see a Yellow
“View Forms” button, which will open a pop-up with the forms necessary:
